It features an easy-to-handle housing, silicone rubber feet for precise map work, a detachable scale cord with safety release, luminescent markings for night use, magnifying glass, map measurement scales in mm or inches, 1:25,000, 1:50,000 and GPS scales and a built-in magnetic declination adjustment. Expedition S can also measure maps at 1:40,000 and has a clinometer for measuring tilt angles and 45-degree angle assistance on the mirror compass function.
