The safe, high-performance, easy-to-use waterproofing and UV filter for all weatherproof synthetic fabrics. Adds durable water repellency, increases fabric strength & protects against UV degradation; One application doubles fabric life. Can be used on wet or dry synthetic fabrics.

Tents and backpacks use synthetic fabrics such as nylon or polyester with a thin waterproof polyurethane (PU) or elastomer coating on the inside, and a durable water repellent (DWR) coating on the outside. This combination provides high strength and water resistance, combined with low weight, which are ideal properties for outdoor gear.

Unfortunately, these fabrics are vulnerable to sunlight and with two weeks of continuous exposure, they can lose up to half of their strength. Furthermore, the inner coating will degrade if left damp for long periods of time.

Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® protects the entire fabric from the effects of both UV and water.

Best results are achieved by first washing in Nikwax Tech Wash®. Drying is not necessary before impregnation.
- Cover the work area and lay out the desired flat or erect the tent and get it wet.
- Spray evenly on the outside. Avoid backpack straps.
- Wait for 2 min. Remove excess product with a damp cloth.
- Check carefully that no spots are missed.
- After a few minutes. check for and remove excess product with a damp cloth. *

Stains may appear on the textile if excess wax has not been removed. Try in a hidden place first.

Use approximately 50 ml of diluted product per m2 as a starting point, but consumption depends on the condition of the textile.

For maintenance always wash in Nikwax Tech Wash®. Do not use products containing solvents.
