Normally performance ski boots are heavy and bulky, but with the Recon 140, K2 has managed to create a powerful and stable ski boot with a low weight. If you're looking for power, performance and low weight, this is the boot for you! It's perfect when you need to go full throttle on the groomed slopes, as well as when you move out into the more groomed and heavy slush/pudder/humps at the end of the day. Tech inserts allow you to use the boot in a tech binding, making it ideal for ski touring where you don't want to compromise on downhill performance.

It's a versatile boot that responds when you push it, without being so stiff that you can't control it. On K2's own FLEX/FEEL scale, where:

Lightweight but stable
The Recon weighs only 1740 grams, which is a light boot with this flex. This is due to K2's Powelite Shell technology, which is made up of 4 different TPU materials. K2 has used the strongest materials where they are most needed and lighter materials where the boot needs to be softer.

The engineers have analyzed where the boot needs the most/least material, thus eliminating unnecessary weight.

The lightweight TPU material around the instep makes the boot easy to get into, but at the same time it feels solid when you lean forward.

Lots of smart features
The boot is packed with features, including 2 powerful buckles plus an Elastic Cam Strap that moves all your energy from the shin down into the ski.

The BOA Fit system ensures that the pressure when tightening is distributed evenly throughout the boot, ensuring high comfort, improved performance and better control. Thanks to BOA, you can quickly and easily adjust the boots to your feet for a precise fit.

The boot is made with a GripWalk sole, which makes it easy to walk in as you get more angle/bend under the sole than in previous models of ski boots. GripWalk also provides a good grip as the sole is coated with rubber, reducing the risk of slipping.
